mY faMiLy: mY Life anD my SantUary

Simple yet full of harmony. A kind of  family which I love and I treasure and owe so much. Happiness in the family fosters unconditional love, unity, and an atmosphere which that sense of belongingness. We may have our shortcomings sometimes but the pleasure of forgiving is always there and as their child I will always be the first one to make a move especially if I’m the one who have commit something against my parents.

My mom is truly my inspiration in every achievement that I received. She knows when things get awry. I may have my own quirks but she always understand me. She is a tender-hearted perso. She always tries to bring out the best of everything in me. As a teenager, I get impulsive and unpredictable sometimes, yet she never failed to devote her precious time to guide me sincerely. Whenever I have a small grudge with my father, she’s there to settle the problem between us. In other words, she’s an angel sent to me from our Heavenly Father.

Serious looking, possesses a handsome face and a man with firm character or a man with unique personality, these are only few words of the many traits that my father possess. He is so overprotective when it comes to my welfare in terms of relationship. Maybe it’s because I am his only “unica hija”. And I really feel that he unselfishly loves me. Eventhough, most of the time , we have conflicts. And I still love him.

For me, I am luckiest person in the entire universe for I was given the best and if not a perfect family, that most of the people tries to find a family like this. So, I consider my family as my life and a perfect santuary to live in.//

Teachers are said to be the “agents of change” in the society. They play an important role in the lives of people in all walks. The students are entrusted to them. As they say, teaching is the noblest of all profession. There wouldn’t be professionals without teachers. The important legacy that a teacher could do is to reach-out and touch the lives of students. They are our second parents. They are also our friends who unselfishly share their precious time and unstinting efforts as we journey the avenue leading us to our priceless goals. They are the gems that accord us with sustaining counsel and whose deep appreciation had dexterously moulded us into talented and responsible students. They have been a witness to a metamorphosis in us.

So, I consider them as my real life heroes. My teacher, my hero. ^_^

SEEING THROUGH A WINDOW

There are many functions of a window that can be a contributing factor to the beauty of the house. Some houses have multi-colored windows, different colours that give an enchanting effect of the house to have a rainbow-like effect. In life people should live artistically and creatively to find the meaning and purpose achieving what is best in life is a good gift to our Lord when the day our judgement comes. Living a life so meaningful is a worth living one rather than a life filled with pain and anxieties. Secondly, when the rays of determination conquers the will to achieve the dream we are grasping, that will be a factor for a fulfilling life.

Windows doesn’t only function as an aesthetic instrument it serves also as a protection towards the unpleasant conditions outside the house. It safeguards through its thick glass preventing the destructive force in entering the house. Accomplishing in the dreams in life is like a thick glass against the wind of failure. When focal points are established and doing whatever the means to grasp it, is a key to open the lock of success and happiness.

Basically, to possess a worth living life, an individual must dig deep to find and reach the buried treasures in the pit of trials for life to have colour and treasures to be cherished and remembered.

An individual must check his attitudes in dealing with life. Whatever he does and accomplish is a reflection of what he is. Life is like a house it needs a strong foundation – dreams, strong materials for the house not to collapse – strong will and persistence lastly the final touches and designs for the house to be presentable and spectacular. They are right attitudes and conduct.

ONCE UPON A TIME

Have you ever seen a frog turning into a charming prince? Or a hopeless situation when you think eternal damnation will be result; suddenly a fairy appears out of the blue and lends a hand to make the wrath despair evaporate turning it into a rain of happiness. A princess being rescued by her knight in shining armor against the fire-breathing dragon.

It seems that these different scenes in the life of a fiction character could not happen in reality, fairytales are called as such because of their happy endings in the final phase of each story. Such as; a princess gets married to a prince or the death of a wicked witch trying to harm creatures. In the world of fairy tales everything is possible, natural laws and rules are being defied by these so called fairies. But what does it take for a fairy to help a mortal; usually they help the ones who possess a clean and pure heart, a person who has good intentions towards life living each day with a purpose to make it a worthwhile one. These are some qualifications for a fairy to aid a simple human being.

Can people make fairytales do come true for one to have ending in life?

In an ordinary person’s perception and thought it is difficult especially when people do not have the right attitude and qualities of surviving in this cruel world.

Some people do not exert more effort to surpass and be freed from the chains of strenuous activities, people doesn’t strive harder to improve their conditions. Being contented on what they have is not sometimes called simplicity it is sometimes called mediocrity. If there are still some chances to enhance their lives to make it better they should grab the opportunity to do so.

People should find meaning in what they are doing. As long as they do things in the light of goodness surely God’s blessings will be showered upon them by giving them strength and perseverance to continue with fierce battle against hindrances.

Happy endings need a great deal of sacrifices, whatever is needed to be discarded should be left behind along the road of life even if it is against one’s will it should be done. And maybe, just maybe it is one way of making fairytales do come true, the end.

THE “PARANORMAL”

THE PARANORMAL

Do you believe in ghosts, earth-bound-spirits? Do you believe that they possess certain powers and charms that can harm beings, which can be beyond the comprehension of science, beyond the realm of the explainable, beyond the grasp of the medical field?

The main purpose and reason of writing this essay is to inform the people, the proper belief and the correct line of thought in dealing with existence of this paranormal reality. We cannot deny the fact that almost all Filipinos do have a growing fascination of the paranormal because of the influences produced by the modern like reality shows, movies, reports, newspapers, articles, personal experiences of encountering ghost phenomena and the most significant of all, the inherited and undying trait from our ancestors “Philippine Folk Religiosity”.

Do ghost exits? Believe it or not the exist; they are the ones who wander around the soil of mortals, these unseen ones are not souls of the deceased ones that cannot go to their final destination because of some unfinished business instead they are the fallen angels of heaven famously known as the Demons. These demons deceive people through the little power they took while falling, that is why they can deceive people pretending that they are souls of the dead. They can cause trouble and mischiefs to human beings like inflicting illnesses that cannot be adversities are worse not only to the physical domain of the person but also to his spiritual foundation. It will be a spiritual warfare between the inflicted and devil. Why? Because people cling to what they know to be instantly frees from the wrath of these ailments, they consult albularyos to aid them in their pursuit of curing the sickness especially if medicines are in no use. That is a serious thing, we Filipinos must ponder upon, because of the overwhelming power of the inherited religiosity we tend not to seek and deny the power of God.

An albularyo doesn’t get his power from God to cure various diseases but he uses some kind of black magic calling all the power of nature and elements not from God. What I am trying to say is that black magic or witchcraft is one of the most common means used by the Devil to bind them to “HIM” and dehumanize them. Directly or indirectly, black magic is a cult of Satan. Those who practice any sort of magic believe that they manipulate superior powers but in reality it is they who are manipulated.

Lastly, we must remember that demons truly desire human beings who bow down before them and fear them. For example, the “tabi tabi po” incantation, which is recited when one passes certain objects of nature, expresses reverential fear towards the spirits. Let us note that fear is never of God and evil spirits do indeed injuries but only to those only by whom they feared, so if a Catholic continues these fear-based superstitious practices, then these spirits or demons can truly make his fears real because one moves away from kingdom of God. But no harm can come to a Catholic who shows no fear, knows his identity as a child of God, who trusts his Father in heaven lives in an intimate loving relationship with Him.
